I don’t have any pictures of my mom when she was pregnant with me.  In fact I only have one professional picture of me as a baby because a photographer asked to take it – and he gave her just a couple prints.  I would have LOVED to have portraits from this time.  The pregnancy shoot is for your unborn child as much as it is for you to capture this incredible moment that only last nine months.  ONLY nine, you’re probably asking?  Ha.  - I hear you.  But think about it.  You’re bringing a soul into the world; a child who will become a part of your family. It’s such a beautiful and amazing moment.  A lot of women spend thousands of dollars to ensure they are able to go on this journey.  Treasure all of it.  The anticipation.  The changing tastes, cravings, moods.  The fact that your immunity increases because your body already knows how to protect and nurture.  Your hair shines and grows faster.  You just glow.  Celebrate that moment!  It’s going to be over way too quickly.

For my maternity sessions I come to your home and set up my studio there.  You have your own closet there to pull from and I help you choose what to wear – so you don’t have to worry about a thing.  The best time is after 7 months, when you’re fully showing.  And you can shoot all the way up to the day before the baby arrives.  I shot one new mom’s shots and she gave birth the next day at 3pm!  I don’t recommend cutting it that close, of course.  But it was a fun thing to hear back from her that her daughter made her entrance right after we celebrated her coming arrival!

The sessions last up to 2 hours and are a blast.  As a new mom-to-be you’ll love this session, reveling in it.  Trust me – I’ve been doing this for many years.  These shoots are a lot of fun.  And I’m very good at helping you be comfortable in front of the camera.  I recently had a mom tell me, “I’m not normally photogenic but even my friends said I looked great in your shots!”  That’s because I see the beauty in everyone and I am very good at letting it shine.
